biography
Bo Xiao, Ph.D., is a technical advisor and a registered patent agent. Dr. Xiao's practice focuses on patent prosecution in the field of electrical engineering, information and communication technology. He has years of industrial and academic experience in telecommunications, semiconductor devices, analytical instruments, programming and data analysis.
Before joining the firm, Dr. Xiao was a research associate professor in Electrical Engineering and Center for Materials Research at Norfolk State University, where he taught courses of telecommunications engineering, semiconductor devices, microelectronics, and fundamentals of material science. His research focused on computational imaging, quantum computing, semiconductor materials and devices, nanofabrication, nanostructure optical devices, and multifunctional thin film devices. He initiated and led three interdisciplinary projects funded by the Department of Defense (DoD) and the National Science Foundation (NSF).
He published more than 50 articles in peer-review journals of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), American Physical Society (APS), American Chemical Society (ACS), and Nature Publishing Group (NPG). Also, he serves as an Editorial Board member of Nature’s Scientific Reports.
Dr. Xiao is a native speaker of Mandarin and fluent in English.
Outside of work, Dr. Xiao enjoys windsurfing, badminton, snowboarding, and rock climbing.
