Ms. Ogawa has extensive experience in legal and technical translation in intellectual property fields. Her practice includes assisting preparation and prosecution of applications under the U.S. patent systems; providing English-Japanese translations for matters related to patents and trademarks, including patent applications and documents related to prosecution before the USPTO; conducting legal research and preparing analysis related to intellectual property rights; writing articles on the U.S. Intellectual property laws; reviewing and verifying facts and sources cited in the legal documents, trial materials and exhibits; and responding to inquiries from clients regarding legal issues involving U.S. intellectual property rights. Prior to joining WHDA, she launched her professional career as a patent translator with a major Japanese company, specializing in a wide variety of technologies including semiconductor, electronic circuitry, optics, electrophotography and imaging systems.
